This design is inspired by the Akoben Andinkra principle and the music of the immortal Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti. Akoben means "war horn", it symbolizes the principles of vigilance and readiness, and it is a call to action. The war horn was blown to assemble the nation for war. Everybody had to be alert to interpret the message that it was being used to convey so as to respond with the right action.
As black people, we must recognize that we are currently in a war for our survival. Never has there been a time that we must exercise the keen level of vigilance and readiness that we are expected to act out today in order to understand our condition and to effectively take action to change it.  If we are to have a future we must build a race that can sustain and defend itself against those who would like to destroy us. 
The life and work of Fela Kuti embody the Akoben principles. He heard the ancestral call of the war horn and with a sharp ear, responded appropriately.
